Singapore Fling

Well here I am on my 3 night kiss and tell with Singapore . Great fun and I'm glad I did the stopover, busy as city and I've never travelled to anywhere further than Aussie so a bit different.
The flight was ok, there seemed to be every delay possible, but I don't mind waiting for a plane to be ready to fly. Bloody freaky actually, my flight was due to leave at 2pm and after a 30min delay or so we were ready to board. On the plane I was sat next to a german chick and a danish chick. Got talking to them and were speaking of the delays when I said that we were doing alright cuz it was only 2.15pm. What the? They then said it was more like 2.45pm, my frickin watch stopped at 2.15pm. That gave me a bit of a chill, but all was good and the big silver bird took off. In between talking to people, movies, trivia games vs Paul in seat 49A (can I just say that Paul was a pushover), eating, playing with my virtual pet, and everything else for 11 hours we then landed. So everyone gets up, and guess what, another delay of some description. All good, I am in no rush. Ended up arriving to the (mediocre but within my budget) hotel at 11pm. I crawled up to my room, sorted some stuff, went to the bar for a beer and then crashed and burned around 1am.

Saturday was full on. Got up at 8am went down to the concierge (no where near as good as me) to plan the day. I wanted to go for a walk around to possibly grab a cellphone, then tourist it up. Got my cellphone, which was more than I wanted to spend but hey shit happens. I think most electronic goods are cheaper than back home but I dont reckon by much, who knows. 1G USB stick for $20, don't say I don't buy you anything Kimmy. After walking around heaps and heaps I had my city tour booked for 2pm. That was pretty cool, went to see all the sights, sounds and cultures of Singapore. Met a dude from Dublin so pretty choice to have someone to talk to. The tour went til 6pm, I grabbed some food (I love rice, noodles, and spicy food so Singapore and I get on pretty well) then at 6.30pm my zoo night safari started. That was amazing! Really fun. Met a family from Taupo there and they were a good bunch. Saw my 2nd favourite animal (behind the ferret, and I guess most other pole-cats) in the world, a bearded pig. Seriously wicked critter, highlight of my stay here. Was going to catch up with 'dude from Dublin' and go to Ministry of Sound, but I was pooped.

Today has been very different. I've had a lazy Sunday really. Just been mucking around relaxing, and now walking around Orchard Rd, the main drag. I was going to head to Melaka in Malaysia but gave it a miss, would have been a bit more expensive...I can always come back.

I'm having a ball, and of course that's due to the most part of not having to be at work. I will probably go out for a few beers in a bit, then who knows really. Aah yeh that's where I'm heading, Hooters. Beaut.

They boot me out at 9.30am tomorrow to the airport where I will travel to London. Should be sweet as kumara. Man, everyone here has a story to tell, quite a few characters. Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

P.S I'm having chewing gum withdrawals, might just bite my arm off in a minute ... !!! aaah that's better.

P.P.S My hotel is in one of the photos, can you guess which one it is?

P.P.P.S My simcard doesn't work here, forgot to suss out roaming didn't I. Kim's on the case and it may be revived but don't bother texting til I get my new UK card.

Peace.

Perth - The wedding!

Well i write this from my Uncle's study in Perth. It is the night after my cousin Hayley's wedding to Martin and everyone is having an early night as we are all so tired, so i thought i'd use this time to write to you all! I have been here for a week and half (i so can't believe it's been that long!) and we have been running around sorting out lots of last minute things, shopping lots, having a Hens night and kitchen Tea, and so much more. And now the day has been and gone, i so can't believe it! ....

We woke up to an awesome day; 24degrees, blue sky with some clouds and hardly any wind! The 3 bridesmaids (Myself, Clare - Hayleys best friend, and Sarah - Martin's sister) as well as the mother of the bride and of course the bride herself went out for breakfast. At the end of a very filling breakie Hayley rang the Limo guy to check the times he was coming later that day only to find out that the Limo was out of service!! We could believe what we were hearing, the guy wasn't going to ring us he was simply going to turn up with 2 black BMWs instread of a White Limo... Can you see the problem! So we told him to F-off and we got onto the phone and luckily after a few tries we found an awesome new one!! Luckily that was the only thing that went wrong throught the whole day!!

We then all had our hair done and then back home to get our makeup done (we did this ourselves) and get dressed. The photographer then came and it was time for Hayley to get into her GORGIOUS dress and have photos taken around the house. The Limo then arrived and it was off to the ceremony. The Groom, Martin, looked lovely and handsome and so did his groomsmen! It was awesome to see everyone all dressed up and looking good. You should have seen my brother in his suit, Catching all the girls eyes he was! ;)

The Ceremony was outside by the Swan River in Perth, it was beautiful! All went smoothly and none of the bridal party slipt or fell on the stairs or the red carpet as we were walking down to the alter, man walking down those strairs in high heels is all we were worrried about until we got to flat ground :-p
Then after the ceremony was lots of photos for us in the bridal party and then the Reception. Everything was so well done from the table settings, to the food and wine, to the wedding singer/DJ - oh man he was brilliant! He started off singing jazz like songs and then when the dancing started he played really good, young peoples music! The dinner was fabulous and all the speeches went well! Then it was time to let down our hair and party!!

Overall... A Fantastic day and night was had by all!!! :) :) :)

To Hayley and Martin...The Biggest Congratulations Ever!! You two are wonderful together, Have the best of fun and Enjoy your future together!! Don't forget you always welcome any to lovely NZ!!

Hope this finds everyone well and good!!
