Fun at the Museum and Zoo

Hi Everyone

Hope you are all going well! Well Matty and I have done a bit more sight-seeing. Last week Matt had one day off so we headed to the Natural History Museum. We loved it!! We were there for 3 hours and have only got half way through, so we'll be doing the rest another day. We ventured into sections on Dinos, Fish, Mammals, Human Bio and parts of the insects. There is a big section on the Blue Whale etc but that was closed, so we'll head back there in July when it is open again. The T-rex in the photos was amazing... It just looked so real, it was moving and had the scarey dinosaur sounds happening. You looked into its scarey beedy little eyes and you thought it was going to come after you and eat you! (Ok so i let my imagination run wild some times!!). The fish and under water section that was open was also cool... there are some ugly fish out there, just check out the photos! Im quite glad im not a little fish swimming in the sea with them around!! The mammal area had some wicked displays, again there are some funny looking animals out there (Oi stop talking about Matt like that, just cos he was hanging out with the monkeys for a photo!!). No Ferrits though so that was a bit disappointing for Matty but the Weasels and Mongoose kept us entertained for a while! The Human Bio part was good fun because you got to interact with all sorts of things, and you can relate to a lot of it. All in all an awesome day and we will definately go back!! (and not just because it's free;) hehe).

Matty had to work all weekend, so we didnt really get up to much. But he had Mon & Tues off, so on Monday we met up with Ray to have drinks and dinner with him on his 3-6pm shift and then we headed back to his pub for another couple (thanks Ray!) and kept him company until about 10pm.
Tuesday (yesterday) we headed to the Zoo with two of our Irish flatmates, Rachel and Lucy (they are in the room opposite us). We had an awesome time! Again we were there for 3 and a bit hours and were still in a rush at the end to see everything. Some of the highlights were that we got to see the penguins being fed, that was very cute! And they have recently put in the Gorilla kingdom, so we had to check that out...The female Gorillas was just lovely, she was sitting on the edge of the glass for ages interacting with some kids, until the male Gorilla (in the photos) got grumpy and came walking around strutting his thing. He got angry at one time when he was a flash on a camera and smashed against the glass... man oh man we all got such a fright!! The monkeys were so much fun too, in the rain forest part you walk inside a building and there is a huge section set up like the rain forest where monkeys and birds live. This section is open and so there was a monkey that decided to go for a little wonder around to see what was happening, he was so cute!!
The Hippo was no where to be found and they dont have any elephants but hey, you cant get everything.... Overall, a good day! We were so tired at the end of it though, so home time for a nice cuppa and a quiet dinner.

Matty is back at work now for 6 days straight! But some of them are evening shifts so we'll probably do some things in the mornings.
I am still job hunting... but things are more positive now... I have joined a good agency who seem to know what they are doing, it was helpful for me to actually go inside and speak to a human being rather than joining on the net again! I also have an interview next Tues for a job through a flatmate. So Im sure something will come my way soon!!

Looking forward to seeing Benjo soon when he comes past London on his way home. And will probably be seeing Danny at the same time too! Can't wait!!

Anyway thats all from me for now!

Big Hugs
Love Kimmy

AT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM...

The Tricerotops. He is very cool
AAAHHHH The T-rex is coming after us!!
Run for you lives!!
They have different types of Rays, we only have one!
The Vampire Squid.. oooohhh Scarey!!
These guys were just wierd! Check out their jaws.

There were a few of these fish, like on finding Nemo, with the neon lights coming off them to attract prey... This guy has just caught a little fish and its still in it's mouth.

There were no Ferrits, but there were Mongoose and Weasels, so Matt was happy :) By the way he is very excited by the fact that you can have Ferrits as pets here!

The good old Tuatara (they also had the Moa representing NZ)
Oh did I forget to tell you that Matt has grown a bit, but now his head has shrunk too!
Who is the better looking monkey? hehe

WE ARE GOING TO THE ZOO, ZOO, ZOO; YOU CAN COME TOO, TOO, TOO!!
The wicked Giraffe!!

Inside the Butterfly House. You walked around with butterflies and moths flying all around you. Matty with Rachel and Lucy, the two flatmates that we went with.
These are wicked huge moths... and te worm that they come from, he is so large!! The moths live for 4-5 days.

Oh yeah ....the Bearded pig (remember Matt saw these at the Singapore night safari)

No funny comments now!

The scarey Gorilla... He gat angry at a flash of a camera and ran hard against the glass... all the onlookers got such a fright!!

The Penguins ... They were cool, Rachel absolutely loves them, so we stayed for their feeding...
This was a cheeky penguin that wanted all the food
A hungry Hornbill eating a now dead mouse (it ate it whole, so not blood and gore)
The cool monkeys playing in their trees....
The cute Little monkey that kept escaping from its home and following people around. Their house is open, so they can wonder anywhere, but generally they do stay inside their area.

I am so jealous of you both at the moment - London looks awesome!!

Things are back to normal here (no jokes please!) and Martin and I have settled in to our place. I have only got him to cook once so far - need to crack the whip me thinks (again - no jokes!!).

Well keep on partying and have a drink or two or three for me!!!
